Export Accompanying Document (EAD)
Until the dates of deployment of the Union Customs Code AES referred to in the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/255/EU, customs authorities may allow for means other than electronic data-processing techniques to be used for the exchange and storage of information pertaining to the exit of goods out of the customs territory of the Union. The Export Accompanying Document (EAD) authorizes the release of goods for export. In general, this document is printed from the customs authority's computerized system and to be presented to the customs office of exit. Export List of Items (ELOI)

Export/Security SAD (ESS)
Until the dates of deployment of the Union Customs Code Automated Export System (AES) referred to in the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/255/EU, customs authorities may allow for means other than electronic data-processing techniques to be used for the exchange and storage of information pertaining to the exit of goods out of the customs territory of the Union. The Export/Security SAD (ESS) is to be used in the context of the ‘BCP’ (Business continuity plan) in situations in which the fallback procedure covered by Article 6(3)(b) of the Union Customs Code (Union Customs Code) is applied. The ESS contains information necessary for export and exit data where export and security data are provided together. Security and Safety document (SSD)
For goods entering or leaving the customs territory of the European Union, pre-arrival or pre-departure declarations must usually be lodged electronically in form of an Entry summary declaration (ENS) or an Exit summary declaration (EXS). The Security and Safety Document may be required in this context and contains data used in both declarations. Single Administrative Document (SAD)
Until the date of the full use of the electronic customs systems, the customs authorities may allow for means other than electronic data-processing techniques to be used in accordance with the Union Customs Code Transitional Delegated Act (UCC TDA) on 17 December 2015. Therefore, the paper-based model for EU customs declarations continues to be the Single Administrative Document (SAD). The SAD is composed of a set of eight copies needed to complete the formalities relating to one or more customs procedures as per Appendix B1 or B2 for computerised printing. Continuation forms are provided in Appendix B3-B4. Consult Appendix C1 for explanatory notes (and relevant national guidance) on how to correctly make use of and complete the SAD.

The TIR Carnet allows road transport of goods in transit between member countries of the TIR convention. It facilitates the circulation of goods under duties and taxes suspension, by simplifying the customs procedure.

Transit Accompanying Document (TAD)
As a general rule Union Transit declarations must be made electronically using the NCTS. Paper declarations are only allowed during fallback. However, until the dates of the upgrading of the NCTS referred to in the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/255/EU, the paper-based Union transit procedure for goods carried by rail, air or sea as referred may continue to apply under certain conditions. Customs authorities issue the TAD (Transit Accompanying Document) to accompany the goods that are being transported. It contains a bar code and/or a unique Movement Reference Number (MRN) to identify the customs declaration pertaining to it. Additional explanatory notes and particulars (data) for the UCC TDA are available in Appendix F1 of the Union Customs Code Transitional Delegated Act (UCC TDA).
