Main Useful Means of Transport
Sea transport is the dominant form of international transport: about 90 % of freight volume to and from Norway is done by shipping. According to Statistics Norway, in the second quarter of 2020, 47 million tonnes of goods were transported to and from the largest Norwegian ports. Bergen and Omland is Norway's largest cargo port, with more than 13 million tonnes of goods transported; Narvik is the second largest with nearly 6 million tonnes shipped. Port of Oslo is the main gateway for containers and passengers. The port is located at the end of the Oslo Fjord with good transport connections to the rest of the country. Cargo throughout of the port of Oslo was 1 million tons in 2020.

The road and rail infrastructures are mostly in very good condition. In 2019, the volume of goods transported by rail was 34 million tons. In the third quarter of 2020, 3.3 million tonnes of goods transported by truck across the national border.
